ENCINO— Geffen Academy’s varsity golf team corralled multiple Coastal League honors on Wednesday afternoon at the conference’s Individual Championships at Encino Golf Course.

A week after the Bruins secured their second-consecutive league title, team captain Christian C. carded the low round of 75 to warrant Coastal League MVP honors, while teammates Nathan L. and Willie L. shared First-Team All-League nods. Alexandra B. and Harry K. also collected Second-Team All-League recognition.

“To have so many players in the all-league conversation, and to nearly sweep it, just speaks to the consistency and work they’ve put in all season,” head coach Mike Padilla said. “We’ve talked all season about playing smart, disciplined golf, and I think you saw that pay off.”

The Bruins now await their team playoff seeding from the CIF Southern Section. The CIF-SS Individual Regional Tournament for Northern-area schools will be held at Los Robles Greens in Thousand Oaks on May 13.
