LAKE VIEW TERRACE— Eleventh grader Avery L. represented Geffen Academy at Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL) Show 4, held April 17 at the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center, earning a tie for fourth place overall in the freshman competition with 36 points.

Avery’s performance included an eighth-place finish in equitation, where she earned 15 points, and a sixth-place finish in the hunter 2’6″ division, adding 21 points to her overall total.

Equitation competition emphasizes rider form, control, and technique, while hunter classes are judged on the horse’s movement, style, and consistency over fences. Avery’s strong results across both disciplines helped secure her top-four overall finish at the event.

In Novice competition, seventh grade standout Izzy K. also tallied 34 points and placed seventh overall, competing in equitation and hunter (2’0″ division).
