Bruin Divers Earn All-American Honors
WESTWOOD— A pair of Bruin divers were named All-Americans, the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) announced earlier this week.
Sophomore Christina X. and senior Kielan L. received the distinction — the highest accolade in high school swimming and diving — becoming the first Geffen Academy at UCLA student athletes named to the prestigious honor roll.
Both divers, who compete locally for the Los Angeles Diving Club, were named CIF Southern Section Champions, following standout performances at Mission Viejo’s Marguerite Aquatics Complex in May. The pair followed up those efforts with podium finishes at the CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships, where Kielan finished third in the boys competition and Christina earned a seventh-place finish among the girls.
“Becoming an All-American places a student-athlete in elite company,” Athletic Director David Collicutt said. “It is recognition at the national level and a testament to years of hard work, resilience, and competitive excellence. We are tremendously proud of our divers for achieving this milestone and representing Geffen Academy with such distinction.”
Kielan will continue his diving career post-graduation at Georgetown University. READ MORE
