WALNUT- Competing against some of the top runners in the state of California last Friday at the CIF Southern Section Cross Country Championship Prelims, a handful of Geffen Academy runners logged season-best efforts. On the rainy day at Mt. San Antonio College, the Bruins raced on the famous venue’s Rain Course, which featured a winding route through the college’s campus.

Sebastian M. ’29 finished first for the Geffen Academy boys in the waterlogged Division 5 competition, crossing the finish 29th overall. He was one of three Bruin boys in the top 50 along with team captain Zachary H. ’26 and Fernando B. ’29.

On the girls side, Kiera W. ’29 and Lila N. ’28 had impressive back-to-back, 14th and 15th place finishes.

Additional Bruin runners included Tallie G. ’26, Abigail A. ’29, Sage O. ’29 , Mia A., Carter L. ’27, Genki M. ’29, Leonard Z.  ’29 and Alec U. ‘29.
