WESTWOOD- Geffen Academy at UCLA’s Middle School Blue boys basketball team overcame a double-digit deficit Thursday night at UCLA SAC gym, scoring 16 unanswered points en route to a 45-32 victory over Westchester Lutheran in both school’s season opener.

“I was so proud of our hustle,” head coach Antoine Cox said. “We had some first game jitters early on, but the team locked in and played really impressive defense.”

That stalwart defense led to buckets on the opposite end, with Kainoa D. ’30 leading the Bruins with 28 points.

Geffen Academy returns to action on Monday when the Bruins host Crossroads at 4:30pm at UCLA SAC Gym.
