The Geffen Academy varsity girls soccer team kicked off the season on Tuesday with a road match against St. Monica Prep at Historic Belmar Park in Santa Monica.

Despite dropping the opener, 3-0, girls head coach Gary Truman was encouraged by the Bruins’ effort.

“It was a very good game for every player,” Truman said. “It wasn’t the result we wanted, but there was a lot we can build off moving forward.”

Geffen Academy continues preseason play on Monday Dec. 1 when the Bruins host Windward at 3:30pm at the UCLA Intramural Fields.
